A research group led by Prof. Koyanagi and Associate Professor Kei Sato from The Institute of Medical Science, The University of Tokyo (IMSUT) showed that HERVs function as enhancers in tumors and may contribute to tumor suppression. The results of this research were published in “Science Advances ” on October 21, 2020.
